03/23/2020 Update:

Though it has been a difficult decision to make, 3/23/2020 will be our last day treating non-emergency patients for at least 2 weeks in both clinic locations.  We are expecting the Governor to step up social distancing measures, and feel that the best thing for us to do is to close the clinic.

We will remain available on-call for true emergency patients, but all upcoming treatments will be canceled.  We do not know at this time when we will be able to re-open, but will reach out when we are able.

We wish you and your family safety and health during these challenging times.  We will continue to post updates as they become available.

If you feel like your cases is an emergency, please call the Pearl District clinic and we’ll walk you through our screening process to determine the best course of care for you.

Please call, email or contact us with any scheduling questions!

03/17/2020 Initial Post:

We are still here for you!

While we recognize the best choice may be for some to avoid going out at this time, some may still need to come in for treatment. For those that do venture out, you will find our treatment rooms and surfaces disinfected after every patient, and the same smiling faces waiting for you to provide top notch care.

However, we are facing a pandemic, and there is quite a bit of uncertainty regarding how this is going to develop over the weeks and months. In the meantime, we are offering these guidelines for you to consider. Please keep in mind the health of not only yourself, but others, when making decisions on scheduling, keeping, or rescheduling appointments. Health experts believe social distancing is the best way to decrease the likelihood of a crisis.

Office Visits – Emergency Care
We will continue to stay open for Emergency new patients and ongoing care for severe cases. By remaining available, this allows us to keep strain off of Emergency Medicine, as patients in severe pain often end up with no recourse but presenting to the hospital.

Office Visits – Routine Treatment
If you are concerned that your condition will significantly worsen with a break in treatment please do come in for your scheduled treatment – we do not want your condition to deteriorate.  Your provider will discuss a treatment plan going forward.

Please do NOT come in to the clinic if any of the following apply to you in the past 14 days:

  • Temperature of 99.6F or higher
  • Cough
  • Flu-like symptoms
  • Contact with a confirmed COVID-19 patient
  • Travel outside the U.S.

Please strongly consider staying home if any of the following apply to you:

  • Serious underlying disease (heart, lungs, etc)
  • Taking any immunosuppressive medications
  • Diabetic
  • Over the age of 65
  • Your musculoskeletal complaint would not likely worsen with a gap in treatment

In the clinics, we are taking all precautions to sanitize the rooms in between each patient, so please allow us a few extra minutes as we make sure that the room is ready for you.

For those patients coming in for treatment we ask that you wash your hands or use the hand sanitizer upon arrival. To follow social distancing guidelines and minimize patient contact with others, we will be staggering appointments start times and creating more space in our waiting areas.

If you have any questions about how any of this applies to you or your circumstances, please do not hesitate to contact the front desks at 503-227-2279 or for the Pearl District and 503-293-3001 or for Multnomah Village. While we normally encourage patients to call the clinics, we do encourage you now to contact us via email as we continue to assess our hours and availability. Should we close, we will be taking redirected calls remotely.

If you are an existing patient, and need some advice on how to self-care for your condition until your next visit, please contact the front desk and we will arrange to have your provider discuss options with you.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate these rapidly-developing and uncertain times. Your health is our priority. We’re here for you and look forward to seeing you at your next appointment.

Sincerely, the team at Hosmer Chiropractic Health
