Strength and Conditioning For Cyclists
Road racing takes its toll on the body. Holding one position on the bike for hours on end at high intensity leads to an accumulation of tension and strength & flexibility imbalances. The off-season offers an opportunity to rebuild and strengthen the body. Says Dan Lauth, SFG, CPT, “to be successful, racers need the core of a gymnast, the leg strength of a power lifter and the upper body of a 12 year old girl.”
Join Dan and USA Cycling coach Colin Gibson for a strength and conditioning seminar that will give you a periodized exercise plan to take you into 2016 with a sturdy foundation for on-the-bike training.
Colin and Dan will show you how to train off the bike this winter, with an emphasis on safe and effective programming, and showing you how to avoid common lifting mistakes.
Hosmer Chiropractic Health has an exercise facility with weights and other equipment. Bring exercise clothes and shoes.
