On July 7th, Dr. Maddie and I hosted a free wellness workshop at our Multnomah Village clinic. The workshop focused on something we often overlook: our feet. As the foundation for everything from balance to mobility, foot health plays a major role in how we move through life.
Here’s a quick recap of what we covered:
-
Foot Function 101
We explored how the foot and ankle work together to absorb impact and provide stability, especially in barefoot exercise environments. -
Footwear Tips
Not all shoes are created equal. We discussed what qualifies as “foot healthy” footwear and how to safely transition to more minimalist options. -
Mobility Matters
Attendees learned hands-on techniques to improve range of motion in the foot, calf, and ankle—including a demo using a lacrosse ball for plantar release (plus a shoutout to the Supernova as a high-performance upgrade). -
Dynamic Stretching
We wrapped up with a multi-directional calf stretch—perfect for improving ankle mobility and reducing strain on the feet.
While workshops are great for sharing general tips, true progress starts with personalized care—and we’re here to help.
