I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Len Faye in 2018 when he was presenting at the Oregon Chiropractic Association meeting. His talk was about the importance of being able to accurately find and correct problems in the musculoskeletal system. I was excited to hear him talk about this methodology  I had been practicing for over 10 years. Len has treated an unbelievably diverse range of patients and conditions in his 60 years of clinical practice, and so I invited him to come to Portland to run a class for my providers. He agreed and we held the class in February!

Over the weekend, I spent some time with Len outside of the class and was not only impressed with how genuinely interested he is in helping others improve their practice, but also how he stays current on research and literature. When he was first licensed as a Chiropractor in 1960, there were exactly zero DC, PhDs doing research. Now there are hundreds. He has seen the profession grow and change over the years. His perspective on the development of the profession proved to be invaluable.

Our Approach

Our approach to treatment has been to strive for excellence with every patient we serve. Continuing eduction is required for all Chiropractors in Oregon for good reason. While some see this merely as a requirement to “check the box,” I’ve always viewed it as an opportunity to really learn something beneficial. One of the most central roles of our Chiropractors at Hosmer Chiropractic Health is to find and treat spinal and extremity joint problems. Believe it or not, when you graduate from Chiropractic school, you haven’t got it all figured out yet!  Practice and education are what lead to clinical excellence, which has always been our goal. I feel extremely lucky to have been able to bring Dr. Faye to Portland to help us improve our skills.

Dr. Leonard John Faye is a leading chiropractic mentor on a mission to provide doctors and students the method for applying the principles of chiropractic adjustments. Dr. Faye Graduated from CMCC in 1960 and practiced for 14 years in England, 12 in Canada, and 34 in Los Angeles. He has a general practice and specializes in Sports and Geriatrics. Dr. Faye has been presenting seminars worldwide on the subject of the clinical application of manual medicine and the S.A.I.D. Principle, necessary for tissue responses and not just pain relief.

We are looking forward to having Dr. Faye back again!
