    Amy Goebel, DC(she/her)

Originally from western Massachusetts, Dr. Amy graduated from the University of Massachusetts before a series of running injuries led her to a career in chiropractic care. A lifelong runner, Dr. Amy discovered her interest in exercise and human movement while attempting to recover from various overuse injuries on her own. When faced with a stubborn injury she could not resolve, she sought care from numerous medical providers with minimal results. On a whim, she tried chiropractic care which finally helped resolve the issue. Hoping to provide the same care to others, Dr. Amy moved to Portland to attend the University of Western States and pursue a Doctorate in Chiropractic medicine.

Dr. Amy graduated summa cum laude with her Doctorate of Chiropractic from the University of Western States along with her Bachelors degree in Human Biology and Masters degree in Sports Medicine. She sought out additional education through courses in McKenzie Diagnostic Technique (MDT), Functional Gait Assessment, Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS), and adjusting technique through the Motion Palpation Institute (MPI). Now as a practicing chiropractor, Dr. Amy is also a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician® through the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians.

Dr. Amy loves helping patients from all walks of life stay active and keep doing what they love–whether it’s running a marathon or spending time in the garden. No matter if the focus is resolving an acute injury, addressing nagging aches and pains, or just injury prevention, she is dedicated to helping her patients reach their goals through a patient-focused, movement-centered approach. Dr. Amy utilizes a wide variety of treatment techniques including targeted adjustments, soft tissue manipulation, cupping, class 4 laser, Kinesio taping, instrument assisted soft tissue manipulation, movement assessment, patient education, and rehab tailored to the individual and their needs. She also stays up to date with research to find the most effective ways to keep patients moving pain free.

In her free time, she can usually be spotted running around her neighborhood, spending time outdoors, or exploring Portland with her partner Tim.

Whether you’re new to massage or been seeing one for a long time I alway encourage open communication and prioritize fostering a safe and comfortable space for all. I tend to incorporate a variety of techniques in each session to best suit the patients preferences and treatment goals. including but not limited to Swedish, deep tissue, cupping/vacuum therapy, myofascial release, PNF stretching and trigger point therapy. Addressing the body as a whole unit working together allows my clients to get the most out of their sessions and address the underlaying issues at hand as well as focus on the area that is feeling the most discomfort. Outside of the treatment rooms I am a compassionate nanny, and lifelong animal lover with two kitties and a rescue pup that I absolutely adore!

    Melissa Ketrenos(she/her)LMT (#15460)

A long-standing resident of Multnomah Village, Melissa is a compassionate massage therapist with a journey rooted in personal healing. Her path to therapeutic massage began after experiencing a serious back injury in her early twenties. Following a traditional medical treatment plan of pain medication, rest, and physical therapy, Melissa continued to experience intense pain and limited mobility for many years. Seven years after her accident and the birth of her two sons, she sought out chiropractic and massage treatment to help alleviate the pain. This decision transformed her life. After three years of therapy, she regained her ability to move freely, lift her kids, and felt physically, mentally, and emotionally renewed. This inspired her to help others find healing through massage.

Melissa grew up in several states, but she considers Montana her home. She holds a BA in English Literature from Oregon State University and has had a diverse career, including working in IT at the Harvard Business School, teaching music to K-8 students, and working as a caregiver while attending massage school.

With a background in oncology, hospice, and therapeutic massage, Melissa brings a wealth of experience to her practice. She tailors each session using modalities such as myofascial release, deep tissue, trigger point therapy, PIR stretching, Swedish, Shiatsu, acupressure, and lymphatic drainage. Her approach is deeply compassionate and focused on truly listening to her clients’ needs and stories, creating a safe and healing space.

Outside of work, Melissa enjoys the tranquility of nature, spending time hiking and sailing on the Columbia River with her partner, family, and friends. She also enjoys painting, music, and experiencing the vibrant and welcoming Multnomah Village community.

Joining the team at Hosmer Chiropractic, Melissa is excited to return to therapeutic massage, where she thrives on seeing people become healthy and whole again.
